Batch 12

Batch 12 is our first batch of Yarn, rather than Fiber. We'll use this Batch for the Watch Caps and Neck Gaiters we are beginning to offer as of late 2024.
Batch 12 is 19-micron non-superwashed yarn sourced from Meridian Specialty Yarn Group. Meridian acquired the raw fiber, dyed it, spun it and twisted it according to our specs. Thanks to Mike Bonney and Meridian for making the yarn we needed!
Our knits don't actually bear Batch Tags, so this usage isn't consistent with the Batch designations of our woven products. But the knits are just not amenable to tags.
We expect this Batch may also be used for cords (such as to adjust the Hood of an Anorak) and cuffs (at the end of the sleeves of Hooded Jackets).
An interesting (to me) detail about the yarn for our knits is that it has a "Z" twist (counter-clockwise) as opposed to the "S" (clock-wise) twist of our woven yarn. {Z twisted yarn tends to have more strength and structure, resulting in well-defined stitches - per Nicole Riley.)
