PRE-ORDER Guarantees Your Garment

Due to our extremely long production cycle (12-18 months for most pieces) and strong interest in our garments, we are moving toward offering our products on a Pre-Order basis. A focus on pre-orders will enable us to use our Fabric more efficiently and fill more orders more quickly.
Sorry for fine print, which I hate, but this seems unavoidable.  If you don't want to read through this, just phone me.


Here's the new SOP (Standard Operating Procedure):

  • About two weeks before the tailors begin work on a specific item, we'll let everyone know, and begin to accept paid pre-orders
  • Until paid pre-orders are accepted, we'll still be glad to take backorders as before

EXAMPLE 1 ... In 10 days, the tailors will begin work on Al's Anoraks in MidWeight and FullWeight Lynx Pattern Fabrics.   We will:

  • Update the website and social media and mail all our customers to let them know the Anoraks in MidWeight and FullWeight Lynx Fabrics can be pre-ordered.
  • Run the credit cards for people who have already placed SHIP ASAP backorders.  Such orders will be charged the price in effect when the ASAP backorder was placed.
  • A few days after the initial email, we'll try again to contact anyone who still has an outstanding (unpaid) backorder.
  • As we go into production, we'll delete outstanding backorders.
  • Backorders and SHIP ASAP backorders will still be invited for any pieces not in stock and not going into production shortly.

EXAMPLE 2 ... Production is not scheduled for a particular item/Fabric.  We will:

  • Accept no-obligation backorders (indications of interest).
  • Accept SHIP ASAP backorders (serious backorders secured backed up by a credit card that we will charge when we go into production).

Special Arrangements Are Always Possible

We have records of all our customers and sales and would like to provide special arrangements for long-term loyal customers with whom we have established relationships. Even if you are a new customer, you are welcome to call and ask for special arrangements. One special arrangement that comes to mind is a customer who works as a commercial sailor ... her items are actually delivered with "Anchors Aweigh".  We enjoy accommodating unusual situations.
