Herefordshire, UK
Specialties: Survival, Bushcraft, Mountaineering, Kit consultancy and field testing.
Ziggy served in the British Army for 30 years and is currently a veteran studying bushcraft. During his military career, he served for 6 years with the elite Parachute Regiment and thereafter, 20 years with 22 SAS.
During his time in the SAS, he served in a mountain troop and became proficient in an arctic and mountainous environment. He also learnt how to operate in all climates with minimal kit. This led him to value clothing and equipment that works well in arduous conditions. “Synthetic materials have failed me in wet cold conditions and I found that natural materials, especially wool performed to a much higher standard.”
During a short break in his military career, he worked as the UK Contract Sales manager for a Swedish company, whose brands include Fjallraven, Primus and Hanwag. He also consulted for many other outdoor brands.
Ziggy is currently undertaking a range of civilian courses to gain the relevant qualifications and skills required to become a bushcraft instructor and wilderness guide.
ALSO ... Ziggy is our liaison with the British Military for purposes of WarriorWool, the program by which we help to provide Al's Anoraks to US Military personnel and the Military personnel of America's Allies.
