Littlewood Dyers

PLEASE NOTE: Littlewood was devastated by the Hurricane Ida floods that hit Philadelphia. We are posting more information here.

G.J. Littlewood & Son of Philadelphia was a commission dye house established in 1860, specializing in natural fibers.

Littlewood handled the dyeing of WeatherWool Merino Jacquard Fabric Batch 5 and Batch 6. Littlewood was in possession of Batch 7 when Ida flooded their facility. We were able to rescue almost all our fiber on September 8, 2021.

On Friday, October 29, 2021, Littlewood announced that the damage from the flood was overwhelming, and they have closed their doors.

WE WISH LITTLEWOOD ALL THE BEST, AND THANK THEM FOR THEIR HELP. IN PARTICULAR, WE APPRECIATE THAT BOB LITTLEWOOD RESCUED OUR WOOL FROM AMONG THE FLOOD WRECKAGE, DESPITE THE FACT HE WAS PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY EXHAUSTED AND COMING TO GRIPS WITH THE DESTRUCTION OF HIS FAMILY'S 150-YEAR OLD BUSINESS.
