Batch 9Y
When we make Fabric, we need to first decide how much of each type of Fabric we want to make ... FullWeight and MidWeight have been our mainstays. And since 2023, we've been making Denim. In 2024, we began to make LightWeight/Heritage and Whipcord.
So ... a mix of five potential Fabric types. And then several colors. Once we decide on the mix of Fabrics and colors, we need to make the yarns. Then we need to get the yarns onto the looms. It's almost a certainty that some yarn will be left over.
We planned our Batch 9 warp yarn with an eye toward using weft yarns left over from previous Batches. That is, we made more warp than needed for the Batch 9 weft.
So ... Batch 9Y combines Batch 9 warp with weft left over from previous runs. It's the same 100% WeatherWool Certified Fine Yarn as our other Batches, but 9Y is a hybrid Batch. It's also a very small Batch, but still, because the yarns are so expensive, Batch 9Y represents a lot of time and money.
