David Alexander is a Northeast Woodsman and Nature Guide. He is a Conservation Biologist and the Senior Naturalist for a large park system where he enthusiastically shares a wide-variety of experience based outdoor educational programs with thousands of participants each year.
David most enjoys exploring the Adirondack Wilderness Area of New York state and creating trip itineraries that focus on harvesting forest groceries for campfire cookery. His favorite trips include winter camping and ice fishing for Northern Pike out of his canvas hot tent and trolling a wobbler and worm behind a canoe in search of Brook Trout while hammock camping.
He believes WeatherWool provides the best quality outer garments with perfect fit and function that has been improved through the feedback of serious outdoorsmen.
You can see his WeatherWool items in action and find out more about his fishing, foraging, hunting, camping and bushcraft on his Instagram, website, and YouTube Channel.
In March of 2023, David stopped off at The Swamp to put up a wood duck nesting box. Advisor Trustin Timber was on hand to film. Afterward, David noticed some dogbane, a favorite cordage plant, and I'm glad Trustin was rolling when David did an impromptu demo!
David is sometimes referred to as Mr Rogers of the Woods!
David is really good on film ... not surprising considering he addresses groups professionally every day. Here is a video of David installing a Wood Duck Nesting Box at The WeatherWool Swamp:
