Labels
Legally, our garments must bear certain labels. This page is long overdue. Debby handles all the labels (the kind of thing that would drive me crazy), and so this page has not been on my mind.
But if we don't have ALL the labels we need, production is stalled. So labels are completely critical!! And getting labels made in the USA is not always simple or quick. Production has been delayed for lack of labels. We therefore tend to keep a great many labels on hand.
Our garments bear the following labels:
- Manufacturer: Legally, we need to identify ourselves
- Composition: What is the garment made of? Another legal requirement
- Origin: Where is the garment made? Where are the components made? Also legally required
- Care: How to care for the garment? I think this may also be a legal requirement
- Size: We have 9 garment sizes, from XXSmall through 4XLarge. And we need to make size labels for our Blankets, too.
- Batch Number: Since 2018, we have attached Batch Tags that identify the Fabric Batch from which the garment was made. This website details the exact sources of wool, and their proportions, of each Batch. Usually, the Batch Number is under the size tag
- American Flag/Made in USA
The labels above and below show our name, our Hardcore Luxury trademark, "100% USA", and a sort of slogan, "100% WeatherWool Certified Fine Wool". The label above is cloth, made by NATco. The labels below are laser-engraved leather, made by Olie's Images (Copper Cactus). We are delighted to note that Olie Moss is kin!
We also use labels made by Sil Thread of New York City
