Sam moved to Alaska in 1986, when he was in his early thirties, and spent years fishing, hunting and enjoying the great Alaskan outdoors. Sam gained enough experience that he worked a total of about 25 seasons as a fly fishing guide for trout, salmon, char, grayling and steelhead and as a hunting guide for moose, caribou and brown bear.
Sam’s guiding and personal pursuits took him all over Alaska, from Prudhoe Bay to Ketchikan and Prince of Wales Island, plus the Eastern and Western extremes of the State. Sam is still enjoying his outdoor pursuits year round.
Presently, Sam is living near Anchorage, but he has also lived in Juneau, Dillingham, Kodiak and Sitka.
Normally, we need people to have significant experience with WeatherWool before becoming an Advisor, but we have made a couple of exceptions, one of which is Sam. It was Sam for whom we made our first pair of production Mouton-lined Mittens. While discussing the Mittens, Sam and I got to talking about our Neck Gaiter. Sam had so much to say about the Gaiter that I decided to invite him to be an Advisor. --------- If you would like to talk to someone about Neck Gaiters, give Sam a call!
