PLEASE NOTE: Until 17 January 2021, we’d called this product the “ShirtJac” We’d had quite a few requests to make some changes, and the result is the item we used to call the “ShirtJac” is now renamed the “CPO Shirt” and we'll have a new product, called the ShirtJac. The new ShirtJac is more like a jacket than is the CPO Shirt.
Sorry ... we are completely sold out of what we now call the CPO Shirt.
CPO Shirts are priced at $455 for sizes up to 2X. Size 3X, $485. If you need larger than 3X, please contact us directly.
Like the CPO (Chief Petty Officer) Navy Jacket that originated almost 100 years ago, our CPO Shirt is a Basic Shirt Design ... but our Fabric is not much like the Navy's except for the general idea of using wool. The CPO design has been widely appreciated for decades and became very popular in the late 60s and early 70s. It's never really disappeared, and for good reason ... it can be a jacket or a shirt, depending upon what you need, what else you wear and the Fabric from which it is made. The CPO Shirt is just an extremely versatile classic.
The rounded shirt tails are long enough to be tucked in, but people usually wear the tails outside, particularly with the FullWeight
Front chest pockets have modest bellows and button-down flaps; and are deep enough for a big phone
Collar is smaller than on the ShirtJac, it can be buttoned down or flipped up, and is substantial enough that if you fold it up you will notice the extra warmth around your neck
Above the cuff is a 4 inch opening secured by button offering good closure but also enabling the cuff to be comfortably folded up
The cuffs are secured by either of two buttons that enable adjustment. The adjustment is particularly useful when coordinating the cuffs with gloves, mittens or a base layer with a monkey-paw (thumbhole sleeve)
Sleeves cut long for better coverage and to let you pull your hands inside
There are neither hand warmer nor internal pockets
Cut long and generous
FullWeight CPO Shirt in size Large weighs 3 lbs (1.36 kg)
MidWeight CPO Shirt in size Large weighs 2 lbs 6 oz (1.08 kg)
Our CPO Shirt provides a great example of the versatility that we strive for. In January 2016, I spent a few days in Fairbanks, Alaska, making several presentations to United States Military. With a light wool base layer, the FullWeight CPO Shirt was comfortable at indoor temperatures of 70F/21C, and was good enough when we were outdoors in temps of -10F/-23C!
